The Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee (HCFAC) met in San Antonio, TX on March 21, 2024, to collaborate, share insights, and provide recommendations on HUD’s Housing Counseling Program. The HCFAC, which convenes several times a year, focused on the Latiné community’s unique challenges and explored strategies to enhance access to affordable housing and related services.
Despite representing a significant segment of the United States population, the Latiné community often encounters challenges to homeownership and equitable housing opportunities. Factors such as language barriers, cultural differences, and limited access to resources can impede their ability to navigate the housing market effectively.
