Latin Music + Culture

Artístas y Músicos Latinoamericanos (AMLA) seeks to promote the development, dissemination, and understanding of Latin music and culture throughout Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley with an emphasis on at-risk youth.

Founded in 2016, AMLA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) arts and artists’ organization located in North Philadelphia. It is a subsidiary corporation of Esperanza, Inc. AMLA focuses on youth talent development through Latin music education. Since 2006, AMLA has annually educated hundreds of children, youth and adults of all ages, through private and group music lessons. In addition to teaching a variety of musical instruments, AMLA also teaches music theory and audio engineering.

Our adult and youth Latin Jazz Ensembles perform throughout the city for a variety of events, including venues such as the Kimmel Center and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Every year, AMLA draws crowds of thousands to its outdoor music festival in Hunting Park.

In recent years, AMLA has expanded its impact by coordinating artists’ residency programs in local public schools.
