Fairy Rhymes and the Pennsylvania Ballet II Presented by Teatro Esperanza
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. Philadelphia, PA – February 20, 2020. Let the Pennsylvania Ballet II bring you back to the whimsical land of your favorite fairy tales and introduce newcomers to the enchanted worlds of Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin.
This production starts with 3 Little Kittens, Gracie, Bitsy and Mitsy, making their way back home after an afternoon of playing. They get very excited when their Mother comes out of the kitchen with a freshly baked pie. It smells delicious, but as they reach to try some, their Mother stops them. She asks them where their mittens are. The Kittens are shocked to realize they don’t have them on anymore and they begin to cry. Their Mother tells them they must find their mittens or they will not have any pie. As Mitsy continues to cry, Bitsy tries to remember where they might be. Meanwhile, Gracie decides that they should retrace their steps and go back and find their mittens. Together, the 3 Little Kittens start off on their journey.
As they retrace their steps, they end up in many different places. They find themselves in beautiful palaces, deep into forests, climbing hills and even in other people’s homes. With each step they take and all the different people they meet, they gradually find their mittens and meet some amazing friends along the way.
Once they have found their last mitten, they get a bit confused about which direction home is, but all of their new friends help guide them on their way. When they arrive home, they are very excited to show their Mother that they have found all of their mittens. When she asks how they did it, they show her all the new friends they have made and how they helped them find their mittens. Their new friends say goodbye and Gracie, Bitsy and Mitsy finally get their pie.
