Teatro Esperanza Celebrates “Christmas in the Barrio”

#EsperanzaNews, Featured

On December 18th Teatro Esperanza presented “Christmas in the Barrio,” a free performance featuring the Esperanza Academy Dance Ensemble, Esperanza Academy Choir, AMLA Vocal Ensemble and Bell Choir, Esperanza Elementary students, and singers Jessica Nuñez and Arturo Alejandro. Local pastors also participated in the event and offered up prayers for the new theater.

“The act of being creative is not reserved for the chosen few,” shared Bill Rhoads, Senior Vice President of the Esperanza Arts Center. “Creativity is a God-given right for each and every one of us, and here on this stage, and in this theater, we will celebrate that shared creativity.”

The performance, which was one of the first events open to the public at Teatro Esperanza, drew a crowd that filled every seat in the new theater, proving that art can and should be for everyone.

To close the night, the award-winning Esperanza Academy Dance Ensemble jumped and twirled on stage and gave yet another beautiful act.
