Elsa Roig is a businesswoman who has been offering hair cutting and styling services for more than 3 decades in the heart of the Hunting Park community, on N. 5th St. Elsa came to Philadelphia from Puerto Rico with her family at a very young age in order to find a better life for herself and her family. She is the mother of three children, one of whom is dedicated to the art of singing. As part of continuing to diversify her business, Elsa also sells Paparazzi jewelry. With this product she was invited to participate in the Christmas Village Event at Love Park in downtown Philadelphia.
Elsa Roig has always been a community activist committed to the development of the Latino community, serving as a Block Captain, in charge of some public community gardens on N. 5th St. and in events that encourage and educate the new generations.
