#NHPB2015 Proves That This Will be the Year of the Latino Advocate

#EsperanzaNews, Esperanza in the News, Featured, Uncategorized

Last week, Esperanza held the 2015 National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast and Conference in Washington, D.C. One of the most important and certainly the most unique aspects of the conference is the opportunity for Hispanic faith leaders to visit their elected officials to talk about the issues that are important to their communities.

Nearly 400 attendees swept Capitol Hill on Wednesday demonstrating the power of the Hispanic faith community to come together and speak out not only for their congregations but for Hispanic communities across the country.

Esperanza’s own Executive Vice President Danny Cortes and Board Member Rev. Bonnie Camarda met with the highest ranking Republican woman in Congress Rep. Cathy McMorris to discuss immigration and education reform.

Al Dia News followed Cortes and Camarda on Capitol Hill:

It is Esperanza’s hope that our faith leaders will continue their advocacy beyond the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast and truly make this the year of the Latino Advocate!
