Considering Coronavirus (COVID-19), Esperanza would like to share some important information with members of our Esperanza community. We recognize there may be questions and concerns about how Esperanza is addressing COVID-19 concerns. We want to assure you that despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19, Esperanza has continued to render much needed services to the community in a safe manner. Your faith in us is well placed.
Esperanza is a faith-based nonprofit organization driven by the Biblical mandate to “serve the least of these.” Esperanza has been closely monitoring all information regarding COVID-19. With guidance from the CDC and City of Philadelphia, Esperanza has taken several steps to mitigate any risks presented by COVID-19. Esperanza follows strict procedures including cleanings of the Esperanza facility, signage to remind staff and visitors of social distancing, providing accessible hand sanitizer throughout the building, and avoiding accessing the facility if feeling ill.
In addition to closely monitoring responses related to COVID-19, we are also aware of the additional health and economic impacts this epidemic is having on our community members. Esperanza has made plans to support our clients remotely and in-person by appointment only. Our program leadership is prepared to do whatever we need to offer the services and support that our community needs during these troubling times.
We are continuously monitoring the situation and following the advice of local, state and federal authorities. For more information on Esperanza’s available services and visitor expectations please visit www.esperanza.us/esperanza-visitor/.
Many of you have asked if there is anything you can do to help. As you consider where to direct your financial support, please consider those we serve as well. Our Hispanic communities have been particularly hard-hit by the current economic and health crisis, including unemployment. Our services are continuing to adapt and respond. Donations can be made through our Esperanza donation form at www.esperanza.us.
We thank you for joining us in uplifting and supporting those served by Esperanza to further our mission in building a community where all aspire to live.
