With the rest of the world, we are deeply concerned about the many natural disasters that have occurred around the globe in recent weeks. Last week’s hurricane along the Gulf Coast and the devastation in Texas, this week’s hurricane that devastated the Caribbean and continues to threaten Florida and last night’s tragic earthquake in Mexico have affected millions of people. Many members of the Esperanza family have relatives, friends, and deep connections in these areas and we join together to pray for the safety and well-being of our brothers and sisters. As the hands and feet of Christ in the world we affirm that we are called to serve “the least of these”. In addition to offering prayers for those devastated by these tragedies, support for disaster and recovery efforts that will provide critical resources in the aftermath of these tragic events can be offered to the organizations listed below.
