"Betances" - Job Skills Training
For over 10 years, Esperanza operated the highly successful “Betances” job skills training program for TANF recipients who were trying to transition from welfare to work. The program focused on customer service and computer literacy training. In 2008, the program closed due to state budget cuts, but had served hundreds of people through training and job placement.

Workforce Investment Board's CareerLink One-Stop
In addition to managing our own workforce development programs, we also host one of Philadelphia’s five CareerLink One Stop sites, which is funded and managed by the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board (WIB). The CareerLink staff provides job search assistance, and recruits partners to provide additional services on-site such as GED and ESL classes. Esperanza’s CareerLink is the only site in Philadelphia that offers fully bilingual services in English and Spanish.
