Some recent accomplishments in the Corridor Management Program include:
  • An architect has been hired to design and implement a streetscape revitalization project.
  • In 2011, six businesses received architectural designs for façade renovations. One out of six facades has been completed since September of 2011, with the other five in progress.
  • In 2011, 10 businesses received one-on-one guidance from experts in finance and accounting, to set up more efficient financial management practices.
  • A business loan from PNC Bank in the amount of $230,000 was awarded to Intimate Expressions Beauty Salon, to purchase a facility that will allow the business to remain on our corridor.
  • Two grants were approved from the City of Philadelphia’s Merchant’s Fund. One will provide $7900 to a neighborhood grocer for the purchase of new refrigeration equipment, and one will provide a beauty salon with $7000 for restocking of inventory.
