Esperanza College serves all people who desire to pursue a college education, but our educational environment is particularly suited for the minority and nontraditional students who reside in our surrounding community. The college faculty and staff are committed to guiding students through all stages of their academic experience. From the point of inquiry students are assigned a personal admissions counselor who guides them in the enrollment process and helps them prepare for college life. The financial aid staff members provide one-on-one advisement to lead students through the financial aid process, and also help teach general financial literacy. Each student is offered a mentor who supports them emotionally, spiritually, and academically, and guides their professional growth. The Student Life Office offers academic and social support via tutoring and enrichment programming throughout the year.

Esperanza College operates with a cohort model, so that students benefit from the support, accountability, and encouragement of cohesive peer group. Esperanza offers concentrations in business, community and human services, early childhood education, and criminal justice; in 2012, we will begin phasing in additional concentrations, to include accounting, medical assisting, and math and science education. Esperanza College conducts intensive remedial education as needed during the course of the academic semester, so that students do not have to fall behind while they gain the skills to meet the rigorous standards of college level work. We also allow Limited English Proficient students to complete courses in Spanish during their first year, while they take English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to prepare them for English-language courses in their second year.
