Job Title: Food Service Worker
Position Description:
Esperanza Academy has an immediate opening for a part-time Food Service Worker in its school cafeteria. The Food Service Worker is responsible for the preparation of nutritious meals, economic use of food and supplies, and maintenance of sanitary conditions. Essential duties and skills include:
- Assists the cook in preparing and cooking meats, vegetables and other foods according to recipe and food service standards;
- Cares for, maintains, and operates equipment and utensils common to large quantity food preparation, food storage and distribution of food;
- Operates food production equipment including slicers, choppers, dicers, mixers, vertical cutters, patty making machines, and other vegetable, bakery, and meat processing equipment;
- Maintains a clean and safe kitchen and cafeteria following proper sanitary procedures, to include equipment, counters, refrigerators, utensils, and dispensers; sweep and mop floors as necessary;
- Maintains professional dress and appearance as required by the administration and according to the standards of food preparation;
- Attends any required orientation days at the onset of the school year, deemed necessary, so that professional relationships are formed with teachers, support staff, and administrators;
- Arrives to work in a timely manner so that all daily food service demands are met;
- Attends and participates in all staff and team weekly meetings;
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to work as a team member
- Experience in cooking for large groups
- Sanitation Certification
- Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required
