This award is named in honor of all of the women who go unnamed and unknown in the Bible and in history- the anonymous women, unidentified and unrecorded who nonetheless bring their faith and gifts to do their part to change the course of events from death unto life. In so doing, like the women in the gospel of Luke labeled certain women, they continue to testify of the resurrection of Christ and his power in our midst. "Certain women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning...they came back saying they had seen a vision of angels who said that he was alive!" (Luke 24:22-24) Today, we honor the women in our midst who give testimony of the power of the resurrection. We name the certain women who amaze us.
