The Green Economy
![]() What is the “green economy”?In its most basic sense, the “green economy” means any industries, companies, or jobs that promote using less natural resources and creating environmentally friendly products. So, for example, this might mean more jobs for people who manufacture hybrid cars or wind turbines. Or it might mean training people how to weatherize and retrofit buildings, so they can become contractors of those services. The “green economy” manifests itself differently in every part of the country, depending on the industries and markets in different regions. One Stop Centers, formed by the federal Department of Labor, can give you more information about “green job” training programs in your area. Check out their website at Careeronestop.org.
