Marriages of Hope

To cope with the sometimes-overwhelming challenges that threaten the foundation of the family, Esperanza designed this program to help Latino couples sustain and improve their marriages. A unique, relationship-coaching program, Matrimonios de Esperanza helps couples develop partnership skills as they learn to achieve emotional harmony and positive family values.

The healthy marriage initiative was initially developed to serve couples in Riverside and San Bernardino counties in California and in New York City’s metro area.

Marriages of Hope trains couples through church outreach to become mentor couples who, in turn, engage and train other couples in partnership skills and on the issue of domestic violence. In a national outreach program, we will train two couples from each of the 25 churches in both regions. Our 50 mentor couples will then recruit and train a total of 500 community couples.

Consider the impact this program can have on the Latino community as the message spreads and the skills are embraced. Families can only be enriched and stabilized as they learn how to manage their relationships with a full understanding of how that relationship shapes their children’s view of the world.
