Why Go Green?

We’ve all heard the message. It’s all around us, in pop culture, in stores, and in the news. “Go Green.” “Reduce your carbon footprint.” It’s in our politics and government, in the conversations about legislation and funding, green jobs and the green economy. The question is, what does all of this really mean to Hispanic communities, and what does it mean to the church? How can we understand the problem, and help be a part of the solutions? How can we take care of our earth and each other, in a time when we are facing the consequences of decades of environmental impact?

We hope the information we provide here will help you, as you prayerfully consider your own personal place in the global movement to:

  • Combat climate change
  • Preserve natural resources
  • Use less energy
  • Create less waste
  • Decrease pollution
  • Join the green economy
