A significant portion of Esperanza’s work takes place with and through our widespread network of clergy and nonprofit organizations.
Faith and community-based organizations that serve Hispanic populations often flounder because of lack of funding, an unclear mission, and other obstacles encountered in developing their programs and services. Many of them need assistance in maximizing their potential.

We build, strengthen, and partner with churches and community organizations to bring positive impact to the broader Hispanic community around the country. This work supports Esperanza’s core mission of “strengthening Hispanic communities” by educating, advocating, and providing communities with access to opportunities for self-improvement.

Over the past decade as a national intermediary, we have developed a vast and diverse network of clergy/churches, nonprofit organizations, and community members that we work with to implement these community-strengthening activities.

Our efforts with our national network can be described in four basic categories of work:
  1. We conduct capacity building programs with churches and nonprofits
  2. We help individuals, families, and communities to cultivate health and healthy relationships
  3. We develop educational resources for a variety of topics relevant to the Hispanic community
  4. We engage in grassroots advocacy activities to help influence legislation that leads to better policies. Visit our Esperanza for America or Climate Initiative web pages to read more about current advocacy initiatives.
In 10 years, we have achieved outstanding capacity building results with over 500 nonprofits, community-based organizations and churches in 17 states, and have maintained our network of over 12,000 clergy, churches, and community leaders.
