Esperanza Academy Middle School students, Berlin and Manuel, announced exciting news via their Instagram account on Thursday. The all time best friends were chosen as one of the finalists of The Gleaner’s 3rd Annual 10-Minute Film Competition. The Gleaner Gala will be held on the Delaware Valley University campus in the Life and Sciences building on April 12. At the gala, their work will be showcased along with the films of the other selected finalists.
For the past 6 years, the Dominican Republic natives have been making YouTube videos to showcase their passion for storytelling. Through FundLatinos, Berlin and Manuel started a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to go to Film Camp this Summer where they hope to improve their acting and filmmaking skills.
Regardless of the outcome, Berlin and Manuel are already winners for the Esperanza family, congratulations boys!
