My name is Beaker, and I’m the Eastern University mascot. I usually hang out at Eastern’s main campus, but I recently received a text asking me to come to Esperanza College, and how could I say no? So, this Fall, I’m going to be joining the Esperanza familia! That’s right, I’m headed to “El Barrio”! I’m excited to join Esperanza College students as they deepen their faith, excel academically, and work to transform their community.
Looking this good isn’t cheap though, so I’m going to need your help to show off my Esperanza spirit. Esperanza College launched a crowdfunding campaign to help me raise money so I can wear my very own Esperanza suit. Although we didn’t quite reach our goal, there’s still a chance to make a gift to this campaign before the end of the calendar year. I’m more than just a fashionable bird, I’m also a mascot who lives life for others. I’m faithful to God, willing to learn, and excited to serve my community. I hope to walk humbly with YOU in Christ, and with my new suit, we can be the hands and feet (or in my case, the wings) of Jesus!
